So the iPhones came out rather unceremoniously yesterday. Only kidding. People were fucking lining up on Monday for the damn things. So how much is that time worth? Basically 400 dollars. If you look on eBay for iPhones you’ll see that generally they’re going for around a g. Apple sells the 8 gig model for 599. So that’s about 400 dollars for your time spent online. I even saw someone selling their position in line yesterday on eBay for 200 dollars and I think someone bought it. This happened with the PS3 too. I just find it hilarious how much people are willing to pay just to have to 1. not stand in line and 2. not wait to get the newest technology. This is how people operate these days. They put an extreme premium on their time, which I think is funny because a lot of these people aren’t doing much more with their days.
And why the extreme need to get it right away? Especially with something that will likely have bugs and also requires new phone plans and an excess of extras and everything. I’m always a fan of waiting for the 2.0s on a lot of things, but hey, these days I seem to be in the minority. Hey, not to say the shit isn’t cool. I’m always drooling over electronics, but thrift is key in my world. Hrmmm, maybe I should’ve stood online then.
For those that don’t know, that little doosy up there means (according to Wu-Tang and they’re kind of an authority around these parts) means Cash Rules Everything Around Me. How true. On that note, I was just wondering if anyone out there knew places that might be willing to give us a small grant to help get this thing off the ground. Right now I’m paying out of pocket, which I’m okay with, but it always helps to have money when starting something beautiful like this, right? Art takes time, patience, skill, but at a certain point you’ve got to buy paint right?
If anyone was reading this blog before, they’ll notice something a little different if they’re reading today. Mainly, that the entire blog is gone. Wasn’t that fun? Well, we had a little problem when we tried to streamline everything and set up the reMODELed Magazine site (which is up now, with funky, junky Coming Soon banner). So we’re here and starting from the beginning, maybe with a little more coherency but mostly likely not.
So to start from the top, I’m Michael Shane (not Petey Pab as I tried to convince you last time around). An NYU graduate. General ruler with iron fist, overlord type around these parts. I’m founder, director, owner, operator, and so that means essentially everything is my fault most likely ’cause sometimes I look something like this:

Good times. Anyway, this blog and my role here is to fill the gaps between issues of reMODELed with news, reviews, clips, pics, shtick, and other good and irrelevant things. I’ll be the general writer here. I’ve got lots of opinions and luckily know how to both read and write. Handy skills. We’ll have some other contributers (maybe?) and metanarratives (yeah, meta will come up I’m sure).
And hopefully at some point we’ll hear from you (whoever you are…Jed?)
