The Unexplainable Things in the World

 death cat

Wow. Some things are just really weird. I think there are definitely some explanations for this furry grim reaper as they call it. Learned behavior is definitely one. It’s like when my cat sees me sit down at a computer or something like that, it always jumps up on the desk or table. Or if a newspapers open even if no one’s reading it, the cat will lie across it. Cats are definitely keen observers of human behavior, but still this Oscar fellow still weirds me out.  My question would be, does he get every death on the floor?  Like every time someone’s close to dying, does the cat come in?  Or does he just get those 23 out of however many bit the dust?  Interesting nonetheless.

Domo Arigato Dr. Roboto

dr robotoWe bow to our robot overlords. I’ve heard of telecommuting to work but I think this is taking it a little far, no? I think this is a bad idea for the same reason I think robots controlling trains are a bad idea: they both involve humans. Telecommuting about a product is one thing, but people? I’m not sure how this one will really work out. There’s some advantages I’m sure. Perhaps with really specialized doctors who can’t be everywhere. I’m just wary of anything that takes the human element out of a profession like medicine. There is a lot to be said of just having someone there to talk to, and I don’t know if a robot with some speakers and a mike will suffice.
