Somehow, Curt Schilling Has More Free Time Than You

Curt Schilling is a huge computer buff/nerd as you may well know. He runs a blog and plays lots of MMORPG (I’m unsure exactly what the breakdown of that is, something like massive online role plyaing game). One of these such games is World of Warcraft. And apparently this is his World of Warcraft character. My man loves his fantasy games.

I guess those four days off between starts gives Schilling the time he needs to get his character to level 70. Ah, the life of a major league pitcher. Oh yeah, this guy is making 8 million dollars next season not including incentive packages.

Incredible, Non-edible Goodness

Just some fun stuff I found through the intrawebs (as usual, Deadspin). Here you go. Something like this went down in my high school though it was just percussion doing various songs but still cool. Lots of Mario Bros. Good times. Can’t go wrong with old school video game music.

Very Cool Things

Just stumbled across this video that is apparently of a custom Mario level where you only can win if you don’t move. Like it’s perfectly set up. Check it out. If that’s real it’s pretty cool.

And also a complete utter waste of time to create.

Now I Should Definitely Buy an iPhone

Now that Apple has basically open up this whole iPhone universe to the general public, a lot of new user created applications, but this one right here is probably what would put me over the edge if I was considering buying an iPhone (despite the fact that all the commenters on Engadget don’t seem to like it).

Nerds: They’re Everywhere!

brainsJust found this little doosey (doosy?) over at BBC. Edge magazine put out it’s top 100 games list and I’d have to disagree with some of their choices (though I’ve only seen the top ten). I agree that Zelda and Super Mario Brothers defintiely deserve to be on there, but Resident Evil 4? I never played it but watched my brother play it plenty and the other day was watching my roommate play it. Not impressed. I don’t know. I just feel like a Top 100 list should also pay homage to the past more. It’s like, of course, the newest games have better graphics and shit like that, it’s a different age. You can store more on disks, etc. I simply feel that lists like this have got put old school at a premium. And not ten years, I’m talking back to the NES, son.

But what do I know? I play mostly sports games.
